Singapore, 25 November 2025 — UQPAY, a global provider of enterprise-grade digital payment and cross-border treasury solutions, is pleased to announce that it has received the green light from the Malta Financial Services Authority (MFSA) to proceed with UQPAY’s Electronic Money Institution (EMI) and Crypto-Asset Service Provider (CASP) license applications Intent. This marks UQPAY’s first major milestone towards its expansion into Europe.

Non-EU payment institutions have long faced structural barriers when attempting to directly access eurozone domestic settlement networks. Under the EU’s unified supervisory framework, a Malta-issued EMI licence is passportable across the European Economic Area (EEA). With this latest development, UQPAY is positioned to build core eurozone capabilities— including local payouts and collections, SEPA and SEPA instant access, multi-currency safeguarding and compliant cross-border payment services across Europe.

The dual-licence strategy aims to create a unified compliance architecture that brings together traditional payment rails and digital-asset-enabled financial services. Once approved, UQPAY will integrate Acquiring, Banking, Card issuance and Stablecoin Payment into a full-stack cross-border financial infrastructure for global enterprises.

These developments will enhance UQPAY’s ability to deliver a consistent payments experience across continents and regions, connecting its future eurozone capabilities with existing licences in Singapore (MPI), Hong Kong (MSO), the United States (MSB), and Australia (AUSTRAC). The unified framework will enable enterprises to manage multi-jurisdictional funds through a single platform, reducing compliance fragmentation and operational complexity.

"Advancing both EMI and CASP licenses is pivotal to building our integrated European payment network," said JackLi, CEO of UQPAY."Compliance remains foundational to our global strategy, and these licenses will allow us to provide a more secure, efficient payment infrastructure for cross-border merchants and enterprises."
